Description

This hearty cake is a real eye-catcher at any party! I always make it when I need something savory for brunch or a cozy evening with friends. The yeast dough is super easy to prepare in the Thermomix® and the filling with ground meat, pickled gherkins and processed cheese is reminiscent of a delicious cheeseburger. It tastes particularly good if you refine the ground meat with a little ketchup before baking. An absolute must for everyone who likes it hearty!

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 500 g Flour
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 cube Fresh yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 250 ml Water, lukewarm
  • 4 tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 1 piece Egg(s)
  • Fat for the baking tin
  • 500 g Minced meat
  • Salt and pepper
  • Tomato ketchup
  • 3 piece Pickled gherkin(s) cut into thin slices
  • 6 slice Processed cheese
  • Water or milk
  • Sesame

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare yeast dough

Put 500 g flour and 2 tsp salt into the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec/speed 3. Add 21 g fresh yeast, 1 tsp sugar and 250 ml lukewarm water and stir for 2 min/speed 2. Add 4 tbsp sunflower oil and 1 egg and knead to a dough for 3 min/kneading setting. Transfer the dough to a bowl and let it rise, covered, for at least 2 hours at room temperature.

Knead dough

Add 4 tbsp sunflower oil and 1 egg and knead to a dough for 3 min/kneading setting. Transfer the dough to a bowl and let it rise, covered, for at least 2 hours at room temperature.

Prepare ground meat

Season 500 g ground meat with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a pan and sear the ground meat in it.

Cover cake

Roll out a little more than half of the dough, place in a greased cake tin with a diameter of 28 cm and form an edge. Place the fried ground meat on the dough and spread with tomato ketchup. Cut 3 pickled gherkins into thin slices and spread them together with 6 slices of processed cheese on the ground meat.

Complete cake

Roll out the remaining dough, place it over the filling and seal the edges of the dough well. Brush the dough lid with water or milk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Bake cake

Bake the cheeseburger cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees circulating air for 20 - 25 minutes.
