Description

These homemade Swedish meatballs are a comforting and delicious dish, perfect for a family meal or a festive dinner. The combination of beef and pork, along with the spices and creamy sauce, creates a unique flavor that everyone will love. I have been preparing them for years and they are always a success. The recipe is simple to follow with the Thermomix®, although it requires a little time for the meatballs to rest and cook in the oven. But the result is worth it! Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete and satisfying meal.

Ingredients (17 ingredients)

  • 500 g Ground beef
  • 500 g Ground pork
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 100 g Bread crumb
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 5 cucharadas Whole milk
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch Vegetable oil
  • 40 g Butter
  • 40 g Wheat flour
  • 150 ml Vegetable broth
  • 150 ml Beef broth
  • 150 ml Liquid cream for whipping with the highest possible percentage of fat
  • 2 cucharaditas Soy sauce
  • 1 cucharadita Dijon mustard

Chop the onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting

Insert the onion and garlic clove into the Thermomix glass. Program 3 sec./Stufe 5. Lower the remains of the walls of the glass with the spatula.

Mix the meatball ingredients

In a large bowl, mix the ground beef and pork. Add the chopped onion and garlic from the Thermomix, the bread crumb, the egg, the milk, salt and ground black pepper to taste. Mix well with your hands until all the ingredients are integrated.

Form the meatballs and refrigerate

Form small meatballs with your hands and place them on a plate. Cover the plate with transparent film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least two hours.

Fry the meatballs

Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Fry the meatballs in batches, browning them on all sides. Remove the meatballs from the pan and place them in an oven source.

Bake the meatballs

Preheat the oven to 180°C (or 160°C with fan). Bake the meatballs for 30 minutes, or until they are completely cooked.

Prepare the sauce

Insert the butter into the Thermomix glass and program 2 Min./50°C/Stufe 1 to melt it.

Add the flour

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add the wheat flour to the glass and program 2 Min./100°C/Stufe 2. Stir well with the spatula to prevent lumps from forming.

Incorporate the broths

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add the vegetable broth and the beef broth to the glass. Program 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 2. Stir occasionally with the spatula.

Add the cream, soy sauce and mustard

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/194°F/Speed 2 90

Add the liquid cream, the soy sauce and the Dijon mustard to the glass. Program 2 Min./90°C/Stufe 2. Stir until a homogeneous sauce is obtained.

Serve

Serve the hot meatballs with the creamy sauce.
