Description

Homemade applesauce from the Thermomix® is a simple dessert with apples, brown sugar, apple juice, butter and cinnamon. The recipe is vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free. In just 35 minutes, including 15 minutes of prep time, you can conjure up 4 servings of homemade applesauce. Ideal as a light dessert or for the whole family.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 1 kg Apples (sour varieties)
  • 2 EL brown sugar
  • 125 ml Apple juice (direct juice)
  • 20 g Butter
  • 0.5 TL Lemon juice
  • 0.5 TL Cinnamon

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare apples

Peel, core and cut 1 kg of apples into approximately 3 cm pieces. Mix with 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp lemon juice.

Caramelize sugar

Put 2 tbsp brown sugar and 20 g butter into the mixing bowl and caramelize for 5 min./120°C/speed 2. Scrape down the sides with the spatula occasionally.

Steam the apples

Add the apple pieces to the mixing bowl. Add 125 ml apple juice and steam for 5 min./100°C/Reverse/speed soft stir.

Cook applesauce

15 min/212°F/Gentle stir speed/Linkslauf 212°F Reverse

Cook for 15 min./100°C/Reverse/speed soft stir until the apple pieces are soft.

Puree applesauce

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 8

Puree the applesauce for 30 sec./speed 8. Season with more lemon juice, cinnamon and sugar if needed.
