Description

This hearty beef and tomato bake is a comforting and satisfying meal, perfect for a chilly evening. I've been making this dish for years, and it's always a hit with my family. The rich beefy sauce, combined with the slightly crisp baguette slices, creates a delightful texture contrast. It's a great way to use up leftover baguette, too! This recipe is ideal for a casual weeknight dinner or a potluck with friends. You can easily adapt it by adding different vegetables or spices to suit your taste. It's a real crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients (4 ingredients)

  • 500 g lean minced beef
  • 2 piece onions
  • 400 g can chopped tomato
  • 600 ml beef stock

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare the onions

Peel and quarter the onions. Place them into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec/stufe 5.

Sauté the onions

Add a little oil to the mixing bowl. Sauté the onions for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add spices and cook

Add the spices to the mixing bowl and cook for 1 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Combine ingredients and simmer

20 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

In a non-stick pan, brown the minced beef for a few minutes, then add it to the mixing bowl along with the chopped tomatoes and beef stock. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 20 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf.

Assemble and bake

Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas 6. Spoon the mince mixture into an ovenproof dish. Arrange the baguette slices over the mince, then bake for 12 minutes until the bread is crisp on top.
