Description

This gnocchi tomato casserole is an absolute comfort food! I like to make it when things need to be quick, but still something hearty should be on the table. The combination of the soft gnocchi, the fruity tomato sauce and the melted cheese is simply irresistible. The addition of mushrooms and cooked ham makes the casserole a bit more hearty. If you like it vegetarian, you can of course simply omit the ham. A great dish for the whole family and can be prepared perfectly!

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 250 g Cherry tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 piece Onion(s)
  • 3 Zehe(n) Garlic
  • 300 g Mushrooms (from the can)
  • 200 g Cooked ham, diced
  • 3 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 400 g Cream
  • 1 tbsp Herbs, Italian (frozen)
  • 1 kg Gnocchi (from the refrigerated section)
  • 200 g Fat for the mold
  • 200 g Gouda, grated

Preparation (9 steps)

Chop onion and garlic

Peel, quarter the onion and put it in the mixing bowl together with the garlic cloves. Chop 3 sec./level 5. Use the spatula to push everything down from the edge.

Add 2 tbsp oil and sauté 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Add mushrooms and ham

Sweat the flour and deglaze with cream

Add tomatoes and season

Add the halved cherry tomatoes and heat 1 min./90°C/level 1 with reverse rotation. Season with salt and pepper.

Layer gnocchi and sauce in a casserole dish

Cook the gnocchi according to package directions and drain. Grease a large casserole dish. Put the gnocchi in the casserole dish and pour the tomato cream sauce over it.

Spread cheese and bake

Sprinkle the grated Gouda over the casserole. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C top/bottom heat for 20-30 minutes on the middle rack.
