Description

This waffle recipe comes from a café where I used to work. The waffles are wonderfully juicy and simply delicious! The dash of rum gives them a special touch. The dough is quick to prepare and the waffles are baked in no time. Perfect for a cozy Sunday brunch or as a sweet surprise for a birthday. In winter, you can refine the dough with a little cinnamon. The amount is quite large, but leftover dough can be frozen very well.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 500 g Sugar
  • 500 g Margarine, room temperature
  • 10 piece Eggs, whisked
  • 2 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Schuss Rum
  • 1000 g Flour
  • 1 l Milk
  • 1 Pck. Baking powder
  • 1 etwas Fat, for the waffle iron

Preparation (5 steps)

Mix eggs, sugar and margarine

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Speed 4

Add 500 g sugar, 500 g room temperature margarine and 10 whisked eggs to the mixing bowl and mix for 2 min./speed 4 until a frothy mixture is formed.

Add vanilla sugar and rum

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Add 2 packets of vanilla sugar and 1 dash of rum and stir in for 10 sec./speed 3.

Mix flour and baking powder and stir in

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Add 1 kg flour and 1 packet of baking powder to the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./speed 4. This will make the dough a little sticky.

Stir in milk

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 3

Gradually add 1 liter of milk and stir in for 30 sec./speed 3 until the dough has a smooth and soft consistency.

Bake waffles

Grease the waffle iron with some fat and add the dough in portions. Bake the waffles until golden brown. The baking time depends on the respective waffle iron. No Thermomix setting required.
