Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 800 g Potatoes, waxy
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 1 Zehe Garlic
  • 250 g Cream
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 1 TL Salt
  • nach Geschmack Pepper
  • 0.5 TL Nutmeg
  • 2 EL Grated Parmesan
  • 80 g Grated cheese
  • 2 TL Butter

Preparation (7 steps)

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) top and bottom heat.

Chop onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5, 3 sec/Speed 7

Place 1 onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec/speed 5. Add 1 clove of garlic and chop for 3 sec/speed 7. Use the spatula to scrape everything down from the side.

Prepare potatoes

Peel 800 g of potatoes and slice very thinly. Grease a casserole dish with 2 tsp of butter.

Prepare cream-milk mixture

Add 250 g cream, 250 ml milk, 1 tsp salt, pepper to taste, 1/2 tsp nutmeg and 2 tbsp grated Parmesan to the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec/speed 3.

Mix potatoes, onions and garlic

Place the potato slices, the chopped onion and the garlic in the casserole dish and pour the cream-milk mixture over it. Mix everything well.

Bake gratin (Part 1)

Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.

Add cheese and bake until done

After 30 minutes, remove the gratin from the oven, sprinkle with 80 g of grated cheese and distribute butter flakes on top. Then bake for another 30 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
