Description

This Indian chicken in butter sauce is an aromatic main course prepared with the Thermomix®. First, a creamy tomato sauce is made with Indian spices. The dish is ready in about 30 minutes and is perfect for a quick yet flavorful lunch or dinner. The spiciness can be adjusted as desired.

Ingredients (20 ingredients)

  • 500 g Chicken Breast
  • 1 TL Paprika Powder
  • 1 EL Lime Juice
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 150 g Yogurt
  • 1 TL Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 EL Garam Masala
  • 1 Zehe/n Garlic
  • 1 Stück(e) Ginger
  • 4 EL Butter
  • 1 Onion(s)
  • 500 g Tomatoes, strained
  • 1 TL Cinnamon
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 2 TL Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Stück(e) Ginger
  • 1 Zehe/n Garlic
  • 1 EL Honey
  • 150 ml Cream
  • Coriander Leaves

Preparation (9 steps)

Prepare the marinade

Cut 500 g of chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and place in a bowl. Add 1 tsp paprika powder, 1 tbsp lime or lemon juice, 1 tsp salt, 1 container of yogurt (150 g), 1 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tbsp garam masala, 1 clove of garlic (pressed) and 1 piece of ginger (thumb-sized, grated). Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Chop onion and garlic

Put 1 peeled onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Sauté onion

Add 4 tbsp butter to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add garlic and ginger

Thermomix® Setting

Add 1 clove of garlic and 1 piece of ginger (thumb-sized) to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Prepare the tomato sauce

Add 500 g strained tomatoes, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp cayenne pepper to the mixing bowl and cook for 10 min./100°C/speed 1.

Refine the sauce

2 min/194°F/Speed 1 90

Add 1 tbsp honey and 150 ml cream to the mixing bowl and stir in for 2 min./90°C/speed 1.

Fry the chicken

Fry the marinated chicken in a pan with some oil until cooked through.

Add chicken to sauce

2 min/194°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 90 Reverse

Add the fried chicken to the sauce in the mixing bowl and heat for 2 min./90°C/Reverse/speed 1.

Serve

Garnish the Indian chicken in butter sauce with coriander leaves (optional) and serve.
