Description

These potato roses are a real eye-catcher and taste simply delicious! I especially like to make them when guests come, because they are not only tasty, but also beautiful to look at. The preparation is super easy and quick with the Thermomix®. The potatoes are first cooked and then processed with butter, egg yolk and cheese into a creamy dough. Then small roses are formed and baked in the oven until golden brown. A great dish for special occasions or just because!

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 800 g potatoes
  • 50 g soft butter
  • 2 tuorli egg yolks
  • 60 g grated cheese
  • pepper
  • fine salt

Preparation (6 steps)

Cook potatoes

Thermomix® Setting
30 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Place 800 g potatoes in the steaming basket and fill 1 liter of water into the mixing bowl. Insert the steaming basket and cook for 30 min./Varoma/speed 1. After cooking, carefully remove the potatoes from the steaming basket and let them cool slightly.

Peel and mash potatoes

Peel the cooked potatoes and place them in a bowl. Then mash the potatoes with a potato masher or potato ricer into a fine puree.

Mix ingredients

Add 50 g soft butter, 2 egg yolks and 60 g grated cheese to the potatoes in the bowl. Mix everything well with a spatula or a spoon until a homogeneous mass is formed.

Season

Add salt and pepper to taste and mix well again until everything is evenly distributed.

Shape potato roses

Fill the potato mixture into a piping bag with a star nozzle. Pipe small roses onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Make sure the roses are not too big.

Baking

Bake the potato roses in a preheated oven at 180 °C (top/bottom heat) or 170 °C (convection oven) for approx. 25 minutes until golden brown.
