Description

This shortcrust pastry is a real all-rounder and the basis for many delicious cakes and cookies. I've been making it this way for years and it always works! Preparation in the Thermomix® is super easy and quick. The dough is nice and crumbly and easy to work with. Perfect for a fruit cake, a quiche or of course for Christmas cookies. Thanks to the short cooling time, it can also be prepared spontaneously. An absolute must for every baking fan!

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 200 g Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 75 g Margarine or Butter
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 1 Pkt. Vanilla sugar
  • 1 piece Egg(s)

Preparation (4 steps)

Mix flour and baking powder

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 4

Add 200 g flour and 1 tsp baking powder to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec/speed 4.

Add remaining ingredients and knead

2 min/Kneading speed

Add 75 g margarine or butter in flakes, 75 g sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar and 1 egg and knead for 2 min/kneading level to a smooth dough.

Cool the dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl, form into a ball, wrap in cling film and place in the refrigerator for approx. 30 minutes.

Process dough

Roll out the chilled dough on a floured work surface and process as desired (e.g. as a cake base or for cookies).
