Description

This Korean-inspired beef stir-fry is a flavor explosion! Tender sirloin steak is marinated in a sweet and savory sauce with ginger, garlic, and a hint of chili, then quickly stir-fried with onions. The pineapple adds a lovely sweetness that balances the spice perfectly. I love how quick and easy this dish is to prepare, making it perfect for a weeknight dinner. Serve it with fluffy basmati rice and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for a complete and satisfying meal. It's a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 4 cm ginger
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp mirin
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp chopped pineapple
  • 2 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 3 tbsp golden caster sugar
  • 3 tsp sesame oil
  • 500 g sirloin or rump steak
  • 1 piece large onion
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 200 g cooked basmati rice

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare the marinade

Thermomix® Setting
15 sec/Speed 8

Place 4cm ginger, 4 tbsp soy sauce, 4 tbsp mirin, 3 garlic cloves, 2 tbsp chopped pineapple, 2 tsp red chilli flakes, 3 tbsp golden caster sugar and 1 tsp sesame oil into the mixing bowl and blend until fine. 15 Sec./Stufe 8

Marinate the beef

Pour the marinade into a bowl, add 500g sirloin or rump steak, mix well and leave to sit while you prepare the onion. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.

Prepare the onion

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5

Peel and halve 1 large onion. Place the onion halves into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 Sec./Stufe 5.

Stir-fry the onion

Heat the remaining 2 tsp sesame oil in a large wok or frying pan until very hot. Add the chopped onion and stir-fry for a few minutes until softened.

Stir-fry the beef

Add the beef and the marinade to the wok or frying pan, stirring constantly until it’s cooked through, about 5 minutes.

Serve

Sprinkle with 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds and serve with 200g cooked basmati rice.
