Description

This apple pie is a comforting classic, perfect for a cozy autumn evening or a festive holiday gathering. Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 0.33333333333333 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 0.33333333333333 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 0.33333333333333 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 7.5 cup peeled, cored and sliced apples
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 piece recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
  • 1 piece large egg, beaten

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare the oven and pie plate

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Spray a deep dish pie plate with cooking spray. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

Combine dry ingredients

Add ⅓ cup packed light brown sugar, ⅓ cup white sugar, 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, and ⅓ teaspoon ground cinnamon to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 10 Sec./Stufe 3 to combine.

Add lemon juice and mix

Thermomix® Setting

Add 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 5 Sec./Stufe 2 to combine.

Combine apple mixture

Thermomix® Setting
15 sec/Linkslauf Speed 2 Reverse

Add 7 ½ cups peeled, cored and sliced apples and 1 cup raisins to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 15 Sec./Linkslauf Stufe 2 to coat the apples and raisins with the sugar mixture. Use the spatula to help.

Assemble and bake the pie

Spoon the apple mixture into the prepared bottom pie crust. Top with the second pie crust; trim the edges. Brush the top crust with 1 large egg, beaten, and sprinkle with white sugar. Bake in the preheated oven until golden, 35 to 40 minutes. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

Cool the pie

Place the baked pie on a wire rack to cool for 30 minutes before serving. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.
