Description

This marble cake is a real classic and super easy to prepare. I've been making it since I was a kid and it's always a hit! The dough is quickly mixed and the cake smells wonderful while baking. The cocoa gives it a beautiful marbling and it tastes juicy and delicious. Perfect for Sunday coffee or as a gift for a birthday. If you like, you can sprinkle it with powdered sugar or cover it with chocolate icing. An absolute favorite recipe!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 400 g Flour
  • 375 g Sugar
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Pck. Baking powder
  • 5 piece Egg(s)
  • 250 g Butter or margarine soft
  • 1 Tasse/n Water, lukewarm
  • Cocoa powder
  • Fat for the mold

Preparation (4 steps)

Prepare ingredients

Preheat the oven to 180°C top/bottom heat. Grease a 26 cm springform pan (tube pan) with fat and dust with flour.

Prepare dough

Put flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, baking powder, eggs, soft butter or margarine and lukewarm water into the mixing bowl and mix for 5 min./speed 4.

Divide and marble dough

20 sec/keine/Speed 3

Pour half of the dough into the prepared springform pan. Mix the remaining dough with cocoa powder as desired in the mixing bowl: 20 sec./speed 3. Pour the dark dough onto the light dough in the springform pan. Draw patterns with a fork.

Bake cake

Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180°C top/bottom heat for about 1 hour.
