Description

This dish of meatballs with chickpeas in sauce is a comforting classic, perfect for cold days. The combination of the tender meat of the meatballs with the smoothness of the chickpeas and the intense flavor of the sauce is simply delicious. I always prepare it in winter, and it is a guaranteed success! The recipe is very simple and can be adapted to everyone's taste. You can add a little paprika to give it a smoky touch or some bay leaves for a more intense aroma. In addition, it is a very complete and nutritious dish, ideal for a family meal. Go ahead and try it, you'll love it!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 0.5 kg dough for meatballs or balls
  • 0.5 kg already cooked chickpeas
  • 100 gr diced Iberian ham
  • 1 piece onion
  • 2 piece red and ripe tomatoes
  • 150 gr peas, can be frozen
  • 1 container white Chardonnay wine
  • flour
  • salt
  • virgin olive oil

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare the meatballs

If you don't have the meatball dough prepared, you can make it in the Thermomix following your favorite recipe. Once ready, lightly coat them in flour.

Sauté the meatballs

In a frying pan, heat 4 tablespoons of virgin olive oil. Fry the meatballs in the hot oil until they are golden brown on all sides. Remove the meatballs and reserve.

Chop the onion

Insert the onion into the Thermomix bowl and program 3 seconds/speed 5.

Sauté the onion and ham

Thermomix® Setting

Add the oil from frying the meatballs to the bowl (if necessary, add more until you have about 4 tablespoons). Program 3 minutes/120°C/speed 1. Incorporate the diced Iberian ham and sauté for 1 minute/120°C/speed 1.

Add tomato and peas

Add the grated ripe red tomatoes and peas to the bowl. Program 5 minutes/100°C/speed 1.

Incorporate wine, chickpeas and water

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add the white Chardonnay wine, already cooked chickpeas, salt and 1 and a half glasses of water to the bowl. Program 15 minutes/100°C/speed 1/Left turn.

Add the meatballs and cook

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Incorporate the meatballs into the bowl and program 15 minutes/100°C/speed 1/Left turn. Correct the salt if necessary.

Serve the meatballs with chickpeas very hot.
