Description

These vanilla crescent balls made in the Thermomix® are delicious cookies with almonds, butter, vanilla sugar, and a nougat and marzipan center. Preparation takes about 50 minutes and yields 40 servings. Ideal as Christmas finger food, dessert, or for festive occasions. Perfect for anyone who loves classic flavors in a new form.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 200 g cold butter, in pieces
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 50 g wheat flour Type 405
  • 2 EL homemade vanilla sugar
  • 50 g nougat
  • 100 g marzipan
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare the dough

Thermomix® Setting

Place cold butter in pieces, ground almonds, powdered sugar, wheat flour Type 405, and vanilla sugar into the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min./speed 4 into a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Prepare the filling

Form the nougat into pea-sized balls and the marzipan into hazelnut-sized balls. Press a hole into the marzipan balls and enclose the nougat in it.

Preheat the oven

Preheat the oven to 170°C top/bottom heat. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Form the balls

On a floured work surface, form the dough into a roll, cut into about 40 pieces, and form into balls. Press a hole into each dough ball and enclose the marzipan balls in it.

Bake

Place the balls on the baking sheet with plenty of space between them and bake in the hot oven for about 20 minutes.

Decorate

Let the vanilla crescent balls cool slightly and carefully roll in powdered sugar.
