Description

This bell pepper chicken is a hearty main course prepared with the Thermomix®. Onions, bell peppers and chicken are refined with bell pepper paste and spices and stewed in a creamy tomato sauce. Preparation takes about an hour and yields four servings. Ideal for a hearty lunch or dinner.

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 250 g Onion
  • 40 g Oil
  • 400 g Bell pepper
  • 2 Stück Garlic cloves
  • 20 g Bell pepper paste
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 1 TL Pepper
  • 1 TL Sweet paprika powder
  • 0.5 TL Hot paprika powder
  • 0.5 TL Cumin, ground
  • 0.25 TL Marjoram
  • 600 g Chicken pieces (e.g. drumsticks, thighs)
  • 200 ml Pureed tomatoes
  • 100 ml Whipped cream (cream)
  • 1 EL Flour

Preparation (10 steps)

Chop onions

Put 250g onions in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Sauté onions

Add 40g oil to the chopped onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare bell peppers

While the onions are sautéing, wash, core and cut 400g bell peppers into bite-sized pieces.

Add garlic and bell pepper paste

Peel 2 cloves of garlic, put them in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Add 20g bell pepper paste.

Add spices

Add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, 1 tsp sweet paprika powder, 1/2 tsp hot paprika powder, 1/2 tsp cumin, ground, and 1/4 tsp marjoram to the mixing bowl and stir for 10 sec./speed 3.

Fry meat

Fry 600g chicken pieces (e.g. drumsticks, thighs) in a separate pan with some oil until golden brown.

Add bell peppers and meat

Add the prepared 400g bell peppers and the fried chicken to the mixing bowl.

Deglaze with liquid and simmer

30 min/194°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 194°F Reverse

Add 200ml pureed tomatoes and 100ml whipped cream (cream) to the mixing bowl and simmer for 30 min./90°C/reverse rotation speed 1. Leave the measuring cup on.

Add flour and thicken

5 min/194°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 194°F Reverse

Mix 1 tbsp flour with some cold water and add to the mixing bowl. Simmer for another 5 min./90°C/reverse rotation speed 1 until the sauce has reached the desired consistency. Leave the measuring cup on.

Season and serve

Season the bell pepper chicken with salt and pepper and serve.
