Description

This recipe for oven-baked asparagus is a simple and delicious way to prepare the spring vegetable. The asparagus is cooked in its own juice, giving it an intense flavor. With just a few ingredients and a short preparation time, this dish is ideal for a quick and healthy lunch or dinner. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Ingredients (4 ingredients)

  • 2 kg Asparagus, white
  • 4 TL Butter
  • 2 TL Sugar, brown cane sugar
  • nach Geschmack Salt

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare asparagus

Peel the asparagus thoroughly and cut off the ends. Do not use stalks that are too thick (1 - 1.5 cm thick).

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 200 °C top/bottom heat or 180 °C fan oven.

Portion asparagus

Place two sheets of aluminum foil (or alternatives) on top of each other and put half a teaspoon of butter on each. Place 8 - 10 asparagus spears on top (depending on thickness). Sprinkle each bundle with half a teaspoon of sugar and a good pinch of salt.

Pack asparagus

Close the first sheet of foil over it and the sides as well - do not wrap a tight package, but fold it over at the top like a bag. Then close the second sheet in the same way.

Cook asparagus

Place the asparagus packets on the rack in the preheated oven and cook for 40 - 50 minutes. You can test whether the asparagus is cooked by bending a packet a little; the easier it is, the softer the asparagus is.

Prepare nut butter (optional)

For the nut butter, put 80g of butter in the mixing bowl and heat for 8 minutes/100°C/speed 1 until it is slightly browned. Use the spatula to stir the butter occasionally.
