Description

Orange crescents from the Thermomix® are a Christmas pastry with wheat flour, almonds, honey and orange. The preparation takes a total of 120 minutes, the active working time is about 45 minutes. The recipe yields about 70 crescents. Ideal as festive finger food, dessert or for baking during Advent.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 250 g Wheat flour
  • 100 g Ground almonds
  • 125 g Honey
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 1 Stück Grated zest of 1 orange
  • 30 g Finely chopped candied orange peel
  • 200 g Butter
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Mix dry ingredients

Add the sifted flour and ground almonds to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./speed 4.

Form a well and add ingredients

Place the flour-almond mixture on a work surface and form a well. Add honey, salt, grated orange peel and finely chopped candied orange peel to the well.

Add butter and knead dough

Place the butter in flakes on the flour. Insert the Patix dough cutter. Quickly knead all ingredients with floured hands from the outside in to form a smooth, compact dough. In the Thermomix: 2 min./kneading stage.

Let the dough rest

Shape the dough into rolls, wrap in cling film and leave to rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour.

Shape crescents

Cut about 1 cm thick slices from the dough rolls and shape them into crescents.

Baking

Place the orange crescents on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in the oven preheated to 180 °C for 15-20 minutes until light yellow.

Cool and dust

After the baking time, remove the orange crescents from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack. Dust with icing sugar and store in a cookie tin until ready to eat.
