Description

These stuffed monstrous rolls are perfect for a Halloween party or a themed birthday! The dough of the rolls, prepared with flour, butter and a pinch of sugar, is soft and slightly sweet, contrasting pleasantly with the savory filling. The ground meat, seasoned with salt and pepper, is transformed into succulent hamburgers. The melted cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes and barbecue sauce add a touch of deliciousness. Preparing the dough at home takes a bit of time, but the result is priceless. A fun idea is to decorate the rolls with olive eyes and cheese teeth for a frighteningly delicious effect! Ideal for a casual and fun dinner.

  • Water
  • Butter
  • 1 piece Egg

Preparation of the dough

Pour the flour and yeast into the bowl. Add the water little by little, mixing at speed 2 for 30 seconds. Make sure the water is absorbed gradually.

Dough with egg, salt and sugar

Add the egg, salt and sugar to the bowl. Knead for 2 Min./Stufe Kneading. Make sure all the ingredients are well combined.

Addition of butter

Add the soft butter a spoonful at a time to the bowl. Knead for 3 Min./Stufe Kneading, until the butter is completely absorbed.

First rising

Transfer the dough to a bowl greased with a drizzle of oil, cover with plastic wrap and let it rise overnight at room temperature.

Division of the dough

Divide the leavened dough into 8 equal pieces with a dough scraper or knife.

Shape of the balls and second rising

Form the balls by folding the dough over itself, closing well underneath and rotating them on the work surface. Place them in a container for leavening or on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, spaced apart. Cover with a lid or plastic wrap and let rise at room temperature for another 2-3 hours, or until doubled.

Baking the rolls

Brush the rolls with an egg yolk and cover them with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated ventilated oven at 200°C for about 10 minutes. Times may vary depending on the oven.

Preparation of the meat

Put the ground meat in a bowl, add salt and pepper and mix with a fork.

Cooking the hamburgers

Heat a non-stick pan, form 4 hamburgers shaping them with the palms of your hands, cook them for about 3-4 minutes per side.

Filling the rolls

Cut the rolls, spread the internal halves with barbecue sauce.

Assembly of the roll

Place the salad on the bottom, continue with slices of tomatoes and the hamburger. Cut the slice of cheese to obtain small triangles that look like teeth, place them on the front of the roll and put the remaining cut cheese over the hamburger.

Preparation of the olives

Put a piece of cheese inside each olive and place the olives on skewers.

Final decoration

Add a little red sauce, trying to drip part of it on one side of the "mouth" of the roll. Close with the other half of the bread.

Placement of the olives

Insert the olives above the roll to obtain the eyes.

Repetition

Proceed in the same way with the other three rolls.
