Description

This baked pasta with zucchini and ham is a real comfort food! The recipe is simple and perfect for a family dinner or a Sunday lunch. The zucchini, sautéed in a pan, combine with the cooked ham for a flavorful filling, while the creamy béchamel and stringy scamorza make it all irresistible. I often prepare it when I have guests because it is a dish that everyone always likes. The preparation is quite quick, about 40 minutes of work plus the baking time in the oven. A tip? Try adding a pinch of nutmeg to the béchamel for an extra touch!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 350 g pennette
  • 800 g zucchini
  • 120 ml white wine
  • 120 ml water
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • fine salt
  • 500 ml béchamel
  • 200 g diced cooked ham
  • 300 g scamorza
  • 80 g grated cheese

Preparation (12 steps)

Preparation of the zucchini

800 g of zucchini cut into small and uniform cubes.

Cooking the zucchini

Pour a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil into the bowl, add the diced zucchini and a pinch of fine salt. Cook for 5 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Deglazing with white wine

Add 120 ml of white wine and cook for 3 Min./100°C/Stufe 1 without the measuring cup to evaporate the alcohol.

Cooking with water

Add 120 ml of water, mix and cook for 10 Min./100°C/Stufe 1 with the lid on.

Addition of the cooked ham

Thermomix® Setting

Add 200 g of diced cooked ham and cook for 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Preparation of the pasta

In the meantime, cook 350 g of pennette in boiling salted water according to the instructions on the package. Drain the pasta.

Pasta seasoning

Pour the drained pasta into the bowl with the zucchini and cooked ham. Add 350 ml of béchamel, 200 g of diced scamorza and 40 g of grated cheese. Gently mix with the spatula.

Assembly of the baked pasta

Take a baking dish and put a little béchamel on the bottom (about 50-60 ml), spreading it with a wooden spoon.

Layers of pasta and cheese

Add half of the pasta, level it and then add the remaining scamorza (100 g) and a little grated cheese.

Completion of the baked pasta

Cover with the remaining pasta, add the remaining béchamel and spread it with a spoon. Finally, sprinkle the surface with the remaining grated cheese.

Baking in the oven

Bake the pasta in a preheated static oven at 180 °C for 25 minutes, or in a fan oven at 170 °C for the same time.

Cooling and serving

Take the baked pasta with zucchini out of the oven, let it cool for about ten minutes and then serve!
