Description

I've been making this cake for years, and it's always a hit with family and friends. The cake is incredibly easy to prepare, especially with the help of the Thermomix®. The batter comes together quickly, and the plums bake beautifully on top, creating a moist and flavorful cake. Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 2 piece eggs
  • 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 12 piece Italian plums, halved and pitted
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon, or more to taste

Cream butter and sugar

Add ½ cup unsalted butter and ½ cup white sugar to the mixing bowl. Mix for 2 Min./Stufe 3 until creamy.

Add eggs and mix

Add 2 eggs to the mixing bowl and mix for 30 Sec./Stufe 4 until well combined.

Add dry ingredients

Add 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1 pinch salt to the mixing bowl. Mix for 30 Sec./Stufe 3 until just combined. Use spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl if needed.

Pour batter into pan

Pour the batter into an ungreased 9-inch springform pan.

Arrange plums and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon

Cover the batter with 12 Italian plums, halved and pitted, skin-side down. In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon white sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon together. Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the plums.

Bake the cake

Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 40 to 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, or serve warm.
