Description

This potato sheep cheese pie is a hearty dish that is ideal as a main course. The combination of potatoes, sheep cheese and fresh herbs makes this tart a special treat. With a preparation time of about 75 minutes and a serving size of 4, it is perfect for a family meal or a cozy get-together.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 1 kg Potatoes
  • 250 g Sheep cheese
  • 3 Stück Spring onions
  • Parsley fresh, smooth
  • 150 ml Cream
  • 2 Stück Eggs
  • 1 TL Nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 200 g Puff pastry
  • Neutral vegetable oil

Preparation (12 steps)

Prepare and cook potatoes

Peel 1 kg potatoes and cut into even cubes. Place the potato cubes in a large pot with salted water and cook for 15-20 minutes until soft. Then drain and let evaporate briefly.

Prepare sheep cheese and spring onions

While the potatoes are cooking, crumble 250 g sheep cheese into a bowl. Clean 3 spring onions, cut into fine rings and add to the sheep cheese.

Prepare parsley

Wash some parsley, shake dry and chop finely. Add to the cheese and spring onion rings.

Refine cheese mass

Add 150 ml cream, 2 eggs, 1 tsp nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste to the bowl and stir everything for 10 sec/level 3.

Puree potatoes

Place the cooked potatoes in the mixing bowl and process for 20 sec/level 4 to a smooth puree.

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 190 °C top/bottom heat.

Mix potato puree and cheese mass

Gradually mix the potato puree into the cheese mass until a smooth filling is created. Season with salt.

Prepare puff pastry

Roll out 200 g puff pastry on a lightly floured work surface and cut in half. Place one half in a suitable casserole dish.

Pour in filling

Spread the potato mass evenly into the casserole dish onto the dough.

Close pie

Place the second half of the puff pastry as a lid over it and press firmly on the edges. Cut a few slits into the surface with a sharp knife so that the steam can escape.

Brush pie

Thinly coat the dough with some neutral vegetable oil.

Bake pie

Bake the pie for 30-35 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy.
