Description

This lemon chicken with almonds is a dish I often prepare when I crave something flavorful and quick. The tender chicken, the sweet and sour lemon sauce, and the crunchy almonds create a delicious contrast. Perfect for a family dinner or with friends, it is prepared in less than an hour and the result is always a success. I serve it with basmati rice for a complete meal, but it's also great with sautéed vegetables. A tip? Don't skimp on the fresh ginger, which gives it a special touch!

  • Peeled almonds
  • Fresh ginger
  • to taste Cornstarch
  • Lemon

  • Spring onions

Preparation spring onion, ginger and garlic

Peel a spring onion and divide the green part into slices and the white part into wedges. Slice a piece of fresh ginger. Put the white part of the spring onion, the ginger and a clove of garlic in the bowl and chop for 3 Sec./Stufe 7.

Sauté the vegetables

Add a drizzle of seed oil to the bowl and sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Cut the chicken and prepare the ingredients

In the meantime, cut the chicken breast into thin slices. Squeeze the juice of a lemon. Roughly chop the peeled almonds.

Toast the almonds

Toast the chopped almonds in a non-stick pan over medium heat for a few minutes, until they become golden and crunchy. Remove the almonds from the pan and set aside.

Cook the chicken

Add the sliced chicken to the bowl and sauté for 2 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add sauce and thicken

Add the soy sauce, lemon juice, a generous ladle of hot water in which the cornstarch has been dissolved and a pinch of salt. Cook for 10 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Combine the almonds

Add the toasted almonds to the bowl and mix for 1 Min./50°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.

Serve the lemon chicken with almonds garnished with lemon zest and the sliced green part of the spring onion.
