Description

This Texan spiced roast chicken is a recipe that I often make in summer. The spice mix gives it an incredible flavor and the meat is very juicy. It is perfect for a family meal or a barbecue with friends. The preparation is very simple and quick, although it requires a resting time for the chicken to soak well in the flavors. If you don't have the Texan spice mix ready-made, you can make it yourself with my recipe. It is a dish that always triumphs!

Ingredients (4 ingredients)

  • 1.2 kg Whole chicken
  • 2 cucharadas Texan spice mix
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Pepper

Preparation (4 steps)

Chicken preparation

Open the chicken in half using scissors and remove the sternum. Turn the chicken over and make longitudinal cuts in the meat.

Spice mix

Thermomix® Setting

In the Thermomix bowl, add 2 tablespoons of Texan spice mix, 1 teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of pepper. Mix for 5 seconds at speed 4.

Chicken marinade

Sprinkle both sides of the chicken with the spice mix, salt and pepper prepared in the Thermomix. Make sure to cover the entire surface well. Let the chicken rest for at least 1 hour to marinate and absorb the flavors.

Roasting the chicken

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the chicken on a baking sheet. Bake for 45-60 minutes, turning if necessary, until golden brown on both sides and the meat is cooked.
