Description

This Balti chicken is a tasty and fragrant dish, perfect for a friendly dinner. I love preparing this dish because it is relatively simple to make and the result is always a success. The spices blend perfectly with the chicken, and the smooth tomato sauce coats everything for a comforting dish. Ideal for lovers of spicy cuisine, this dish can be accompanied by basmati rice or naan bread for dipping. Feel free to adjust the amount of chili according to your preferences. A real delight!

Ingredients (16 ingredients)

  • 1 c. à c. paprika
  • 1 c. à c. cinnamon
  • 0.25 c. à c. chili
  • 1 c. à s. lemon juice
  • 1 piece onion
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 1 c. à c. garam masala
  • 1 c. à c. turmeric
  • 1 piece red pepper
  • 1 piece tomato
  • 25 cl tomato sauce
  • 2 pinch ginger
  • 1 c. à c. coriander
  • 0.5 c. à c. cumin
  • 4 piece chicken breasts
  • 1 cl oil

Preparation (6 steps)

Chicken preparation

Cut the 4 chicken breasts into fairly large dice. Put them in a salad bowl, add 1 tbsp of lemon juice, ¼ tsp of chili and 1 tsp of paprika. Mix and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Preparation of the aromatic base

Put 1 onion cut into four and 2 cloves of garlic in the Thermomix bowl. Mix 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Cooking the aromatics

Add 1 cl of oil, 1 tsp of cinnamon, the whole chili and ½ tsp of cumin in the bowl. Sauté 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Adding chicken and cooking

5 min/248°F/Speed 2 120

Add the marinated chicken and the remaining oil to the bowl. Cook 5 Min./120°C/Stufe 2.

Adding vegetables and sauce

Add 1 diced tomato, 1 red pepper in strips, 10 cl of water and 25 cl of tomato sauce in the bowl.

Adding spices and simmering

Thermomix® Setting
25 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add 1 tsp of garam masala, 1 tsp of turmeric, 2 pinches of ginger and 1 tsp of coriander in the bowl. Mix gently with the spatula. Simmer 25 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf.
