Description

This Garlic Sesame Chicken is a flavorful and easy dish that's perfect for a weeknight dinner. I've been making this recipe for my family for years, and it's always a hit! The chicken thighs are tender and juicy, coated in a delicious garlic sesame sauce. It's a great way to enjoy a taste of Asian cuisine without spending hours in the kitchen. Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 4 piece bone-in, skin on chicken thighs
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Preparation (8 steps)

Seasoning the chicken

Season 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Set aside.

Mincing garlic

Place 4 garlic cloves into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 Sec./Stufe 7.

Sautéing garlic

Add 2 tablespoons sesame oil to the mixing bowl with the minced garlic and sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Adding water and scraping the bottom

Pour 4 tablespoons water into the mixing bowl and scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the bowl using a spatula.

Mixing the sauce

10 sec/Speed 3

Add ¼ cup soy sauce, ¼ cup hoisin sauce, and 1 tablespoon honey to the mixing bowl. Mix for 10 Sec./Stufe 3.

Adding chicken and cooking

Place the seasoned chicken thighs into the mixing bowl with the sauce. Cook for 20 Min./100°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.

Thickening the sauce

Remove the chicken thighs from the mixing bowl and set aside. Mix remaining 2 tablespoons water with 2 tablespoons cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth. Add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce in the mixing bowl and cook for 2 Min./100°C/Stufe 3.

Combining chicken and sauce

Return the chicken thighs to the mixing bowl with the thickened sauce. Add 2 tablespoons chopped green onions and 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds. Mix gently for 10 Sec./Linkslauf Stufe 1 to coat the chicken.
