Description

This stewed chicken with caramelized onion is a comforting and flavorful dish, perfect for a family meal. The onion, cooked slowly until caramelized, gives it a sweet and smooth touch that perfectly complements the chicken. I prepare it often because it is very easy to make and always triumphs. In addition, it can be accompanied with baked potatoes or a little white rice to complete the meal. A simple but delicious dish that will transport you to your grandmother's kitchen!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 3 piece chicken breasts
  • 3 piece onions
  • 3 hojas bay leaf
  • Pepper
  • Parsley
  • Water
  • evoo
  • Salt
  • Potatoes
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare the chicken

Cut 3 chicken breasts into medium pieces. Season with salt and pepper to taste and drizzle with a little oil. Set aside.

Sauté the onion

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Cut 3 onions into julienne strips. Place in the Thermomix bowl and program 3 sec./Stufe 5. Add extra virgin olive oil and 3 bay leaves. Program 15 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1.

Add the chicken

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/212°F/Giro a la izquierda/Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add the reserved chicken to the Thermomix bowl. Program 10 Min./100°C/Reverse/Stufe 1.

Thicken the sauce

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Dissolve 1 tsp of cornstarch in a glass of water. Add to the Thermomix bowl along with water to cover the chicken. Program 15 Min./100°C/Stufe 1. If the sauce is too runny, program a few more minutes.

Serve

Serve the stewed chicken with hot onion, sprinkled with chopped parsley. Accompany with baked potatoes.
