Description

Caramel popcorn is a quick and inexpensive snack that can be prepared with the Thermomix® in just 5 minutes. The main ingredients are vegetable oil, popcorn kernels and sugar. This vegetarian finger food dessert yields 4 servings and is ideal for a cozy evening or as a sweet treat in between. Perfect for anyone looking for a simple and straightforward snack. Preparation in the Thermomix® is effortless.

Ingredients (3 ingredients)

  • 4 EL Vegetable oil, neutral
  • 50 g Popcorn kernels
  • 50 g Sugar

Preparation (4 steps)

Heat oil and kernels

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 4 tbsp vegetable oil to the mixing bowl and heat for 3 min./120°C/speed 1. Then add 50 g popcorn kernels and carefully stir with the spatula.

Add sugar and caramelize

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add 50 g sugar to the mixing bowl as quickly as possible and stir in with the spatula. Close the mixing bowl with the measuring cup and reduce the temperature to 100°C. Reduce the heat to 100°C and continue heating for 2 min./100°C/speed 1 until the kernels pop. Be sure to supervise the process.

Transfer popcorn

As soon as no more popping sounds can be heard, IMMEDIATELY remove the mixing bowl from the Thermomix, as the popcorn burns quickly. Carefully open the lid and stir the caramel popcorn again with the spatula. Transfer the finished popcorn to a serving bowl.

Clean mixing bowl

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

To clean the mixing bowl, add water and bring to a boil for 5 min./100°C/speed 1 until the caramel has dissolved.
