Description

This orange chicken is a dish that I often prepare in winter, especially for Christmas parties. The combination of tender chicken with citrus sauce is simply delicious. The recipe is very simple and can be easily adapted to everyone's tastes. I like to add a little white wine to give it a more sophisticated touch. It is ideal to serve with white rice or roasted potatoes. A comforting and flavorful dish!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 1 piece chopped chicken
  • 1 piece onion
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 150 gramos crushed tomato
  • 150 mililitros orange juice
  • 100 mililitros white wine
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cucharada sopera wheat flour
  • 1 chorro olive oil

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare the chicken

Chop the chicken and season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Chop onion and garlic

Insert the onion into the bowl and chop for 3 sec./Stufe 5. Add the garlic cloves and chop 3 sec./Stufe 7.

Sauté the onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add the olive oil to the bowl and sauté the onion and garlic for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Brown the chicken

Remove the onion and garlic mixture from the bowl and set aside. In a pan with a little oil, brown the chicken over high heat on all sides. Set aside.

Add flour and tomato

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Put the onion and garlic mixture back in the bowl. Add the flour and stir for 10 sec./Stufe 3. Incorporate the crushed tomato and cook for 2 Min./100°C/Stufe 2.

Incorporate the wine and juice

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 3 100

Add the white wine and cook for 2 Min./100°C/Stufe 2, without the measuring cup, so that the alcohol evaporates. Incorporate the orange juice and 50 ml of water. Stir for 5 sec./Stufe 3.

Cook the chicken in the sauce

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Giro a la izquierda/Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add the browned chicken to the bowl. Program 20 Min./100°C/Reverse rotation/Stufe 1. If the sauce is too thick, add a little more water.

Adjust the flavor and serve

Taste the sauce and correct the salt if necessary. If you want a more intense orange flavor, add a little more juice. Serve the hot orange chicken.
