Description

This creamy chicken in tomato-cashew sauce is a delicious main course that combines Asian flavors with a creamy texture. The dish is gluten-free and is perfect for a festive dinner or a special lunch. Preparation with the Thermomix® simplifies the process and ensures a perfect result.   • 800 g Chicken breast fillet
  • 3 EL Plain yogurt
  • 2 EL Lime juice
  • 2 Stk. Garlic cloves
  • 1 TL Ginger
  • 2 TL Garam Masala
  • 1 TL Sweet paprika powder
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 1 EL Olive oil
  • 4 EL Butter
  • 2 Stk. Onions
  • 2 Stk. Garlic cloves
  • 1 TL Ginger
  • 60 g Cashews
  • 2 TL Garam Masala
  • 1 TL Sweet paprika powder
  • 500 g Passata (strained tomatoes)
  • 200 g Cream

Preparation (9 steps)

Prepare the marinade

In a bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, 2 pressed garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, 2 teaspoons of Garam Masala, 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika powder and 1 teaspoon of salt. Cut 800 g of chicken breast fillet into bite-sized pieces and mix with the marinade. Cover the bowl and leave to marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Fry the meat

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken breast fillet until browned. Then remove the meat from the pan and set aside.

Chop the onions

Put 2 onions in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec/speed 5. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Sauté the onions

Leave the chopped onions in the mixing bowl. Add half of the butter (2 tablespoons) and sauté for 3 min/120°C/speed 1.

Add garlic and ginger

Add 2 garlic cloves to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec/speed 7. Add 1 teaspoon of grated ginger and 60 g of cashews and sauté for 1 min/120°C/speed 1.

Prepare the sauce

Add 500 g of strained tomatoes, 2 teaspoons of Garam Masala and 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika powder to the mixing bowl and simmer for 5 min/100°C/speed 1.

Add cream

Add 200 g of cream and stir in for 1 min/90°C/speed 1.

Puree the sauce

30 sec/Speed 8-10

Remove the sauce from the mixing bowl and transfer to a separate bowl. Then finely puree the sauce with an immersion blender or in the mixing bowl for 30 sec/speed 8-10.

Add chicken and butter

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/194°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 90 Reverse

Put the pureed sauce back into the mixing bowl. Add the fried chicken and the remaining butter (2 tablespoons) and simmer for 5 min/90°C/Reverse speed 1.
