Description

This shredded chicken is a dish that I often prepare for family gatherings or birthdays. The meat is incredibly tender and juicy thanks to the slow cooking, and the homemade barbecue sauce gives it a spectacular flavor. It is perfect to serve in sandwiches, tacos or even on a bed of rice. The recipe is very simple, although it requires some time, but the result is worth it. Go ahead and try it, you're sure to love it! Also, you can adjust the amount of spicy paprika to suit your taste. Ideal for an informal and delicious meal.

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 3 piece Whole skinless chicken breasts
  • 45 ml Extra virgin olive oil
  • 15 ml Honey
  • 5 ml Apple vinegar
  • 5 ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 30 ml Tomato sauce
  • 30 ml Barbecue sauce (optional)
  • 5 g Salt
  • 1 tsp Granulated garlic
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Spicy paprika
  • Ground black pepper

Preparation (5 steps)

Chicken preparation

Preheat the oven to 150ºC. Remove any remaining fat from the chicken breasts and dry them slightly with kitchen paper. Line a tray or dish with several layers of aluminium foil and place the breasts on top.

Sauce preparation

Thermomix® Setting

In the Thermomix bowl, add 45 ml of extra virgin olive oil, 15 ml of honey, 5 ml of apple vinegar, 5 ml of Worcestershire sauce, 30 ml of tomato sauce, 30 ml of barbecue sauce (optional), 5 g of salt, a teaspoon of granulated garlic, a teaspoon of sweet paprika and half a teaspoon of spicy paprika. Add ground black pepper to taste. Mix all the ingredients 10 sec./Speed 4.

Chicken marinating

Pour the sauce over the breasts and coat them well on all sides. Wrap the meat with the aluminium foil, closing the dish well.

Oven cooking

Put in the oven. After 20 minutes, lower the temperature to 110ºC and continue cooking until completing about 3 hours. Let it cool slightly.

Shred the chicken

Tear the meat with the help of two forks, mixing it with the remains of the sauce that have remained in the dish.
