Description

This chicken in oriental sweet and sour sauce is a dish that I often prepare at home. The key is in the marinade, which gives the chicken an incredibly rich and deep flavor. The sauce, with its sweet and sour touch, perfectly complements the meat. It is ideal for a family dinner or to surprise your guests with a different and tasty dish. In addition, it can be accompanied with white rice or oriental rice for a complete meal. Go ahead and try it, you will love it! The preparation is simple and the result is spectacular. Perfect for lovers of Asian cuisine and intense flavors.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 8 piece Pieces of chicken (any piece)
  • 4 tbsp Sauce for grill or barbecue
  • 0.25 cup White wine
  • 0.25 cup Light soy sauce
  • 0.5 tsp Seasoning
  • 1 pinch White pepper
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 tsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 chorro Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch

Preparation of the marinade

In the Thermomix bowl, add 4 tablespoons of grill or barbecue sauce, ¼ cup of white wine, ¼ cup of light soy sauce, ½ teaspoon of seasoning, 1 pinch of white pepper, 1 pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon of oyster sauce and 1 splash of sesame oil. Mix all ingredients for 10 seconds/Speed 4.

Marinating the chicken

Place the 8 pieces of chicken in a container and pour the marinade over them. Make sure each piece is well covered. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight for a more intense flavor.

Cooking the chicken (oven option)

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the chicken with the marinade in an oven-safe dish. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the skin begins to brown. Then, cover the dish with aluminum foil and reduce the temperature to 180°C. Continue baking until the chicken is tender, approximately 20-30 minutes more.

Separation of cooking juices

Once the chicken is cooked, remove the pieces from the dish and place them on a separate plate. Pour the cooking juices into the Thermomix bowl.

Preparation of the sauce

Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to the cooking juices in the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 10 seconds/Speed 4 to dissolve the cornstarch. Then, program 5 minutes/80°C/Speed 2 to thicken the sauce. If you want a thicker consistency, cook for a few additional minutes.

Serve

Place the chicken pieces on a plate and generously bathe with the Chinese sauce. Serve hot.
