Description

This lentil stew with bacon and potatoes is a comforting and flavorful dish, perfect for cold days. I remember my grandmother used to prepare it in winter, and the aroma filled the whole house. Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 300 gramos soaked lentils
  • 150 gramos bacon
  • 200 gramos yellow potatoes
  • 200 gramos spring onion
  • 5 piece tomatoes
  • 1 pinch garlic salt
  • 1 pinch thyme
  • 1 piece large carrot
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

Preparation (6 steps)

Preparation of the vegetables

Wash the tomatoes and spring onion. Finely chop the spring onion and tomatoes. Peel and grate the carrot. Peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes.

Sauté of onion and tomato

Add the chopped spring onion and tomatoes to the Thermomix bowl. Program 5 seconds/speed 5 to chop the vegetables.

Add the bacon

Thermomix® Setting

Add the bacon cut into strips to the bowl. Program 5 minutes/120°C/speed 1 to sauté the bacon and vegetables.

Incorporate the carrot and spices

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Add the grated carrot, dried thyme, garlic salt, salt and pepper to taste to the Thermomix bowl. Mix 10 seconds/speed 3.

Cooking the lentils and potatoes

35 min/212°F/Speed 1/giro inverso 100 Reverse

Add the soaked lentils and the potatoes cut into small cubes to the bowl. Cover with water. Program 35 minutes/100°C/speed 1/reverse rotation.

Serve hot with a little grated Parmesan cheese on top.
