Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 piece leeks
  • 2 clove garlic cloves
  • 300 g pearl barley
  • 4 piece carrots
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 l chicken stock
  • 300 g Savoy cabbage
  • 200 g lean bacon

Preparation (4 steps)

Sauté leeks and garlic

Add 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 chopped leeks and 2 garlic cloves to the mixing bowl and cook for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add pearl barley, carrots, and mustard

Add 300g pearl barley, 4 chopped carrots, and 1 tbsp Dijon mustard to the mixing bowl.

Cook the stew

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Pour 1l chicken stock over the ingredients in the mixing bowl. Season with pepper. Cook for 20 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf.

Add cabbage and bacon

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add 300g Savoy cabbage and 200g lean bacon to the mixing bowl and cook for 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf, until the cabbage is wilted and tender.
