Description

This protein-rich Red Lentil Dal, prepared in the Thermomix®, is an aromatic main course with onions, garlic, ginger, and red lentils as a base. The recipe is gluten- and lactose-free and can be easily prepared as a one-pot dish. In just 30 minutes, 4 servings of a healthy and satisfying soup are created. Ideal for light cuisine and lovers of Asian flavors.

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 2 Zehen Garlic
  • 1 Stück Ginger
  • 300 g red lentils
  • 1 EL Olive oil
  • 1 TL Curry
  • 1 TL Mild paprika powder
  • 0.5 TL Cumin
  • 0.5 TL Turmeric
  • 0.5 TL Salt
  • 700 ml Vegetable broth
  • 400 g chopped Tomatoes
  • 200 ml Coconut milk

Preparation (5 steps)

Chop onion, garlic and ginger

Add 1 peeled and quartered onion, 2 cloves of garlic and 1 piece of ginger (approx. 2 cm) to the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./speed 5. If necessary, use the spatula to push down from the edge.

Sauté onion, garlic and ginger

Add 1 tbsp olive oil and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add spices and roast

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/248°F/Speed 1 120 Reverse

Add 1 tsp curry, 1 tsp mild paprika powder, 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp turmeric and 1/2 tsp salt and briefly roast for 1 min./120°C/speed 1 with reverse blade.

Add lentils, broth and tomatoes

20 min/212°F/Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add 300 g red lentils (previously rinsed in a sieve under running water), 700 ml vegetable broth and 400 g chopped tomatoes (from a can) to the mixing bowl and simmer for 20 min./100°C/speed 1 with reverse blade. Use the spatula to loosen the ingredients at the bottom.

Stir in coconut milk and simmer until done

Add 200 ml coconut milk (from a can) and simmer for a further 5 min./90°C/speed 1 with reverse blade.
