Description

This savory meat pot with cocktail sauce is a hearty dish, ideal for parties or festive occasions. The recipe combines roulade pieces with bacon, pickles, and a creamy sauce. Preparation in the oven takes about 2.5 hours and yields 6 servings. A filling main course for the cold season.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 1000 g Roulades from the topside
  • 2 EL Dijon mustard
  • 2 Stück Onions
  • 4 Stück Pickles
  • 150 g Bacon slices
  • 500 ml Cocktail sauce
  • 400 g Cream
  • 4 TL Green peppercorns
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation (8 steps)

Chop onions

Add 2 onions to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Sauté onions

Leave the chopped onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1. Add some oil if necessary.

Prepare meat

Cut 1 kg of roulades from the topside into bite-sized pieces. Mix and season in a bowl with 2 tbsp Dijon mustard, salt and pepper.

Prepare other ingredients

Cut 4 pickles into slices. Cut 150 g bacon slices into small pieces.

Prepare sauce

Mix 500 ml cocktail sauce and 400 g cream in a separate bowl. Season with salt and pepper.

Layer meat pot

Place roulade pieces, bacon, pickle slices, sautéed onions and 4 tsp green peppercorns in a roasting pan and mix.

Add sauce

Pour the prepared cocktail sauce-cream mixture over the meat in the roasting pan.

Bake in the oven

Place the covered roasting pan in the preheated oven at 200 degrees top and bottom heat for 1 hour. Then reduce the temperature to 170 degrees and cook without a lid for another 1 1/2 hours. Stir once in between.
