Description

This cherry strudel is a rustic and delicious dessert, perfect for a summer snack or a Sunday brunch. The flaky puff pastry encloses a juicy filling of fresh cherries, enriched with sugar, breadcrumbs and almonds. The preparation is quick and easy thanks to the Thermomix®, which helps us prepare the filling in minutes. I love it warm, perhaps accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A real comfort food that everyone agrees on! Also ideal for a birthday party or dinner with friends.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 1 rotolo Rectangular puff pastry
  • 300 g cherries
  • 50 g sugar
  • 30 g breadcrumbs
  • 30 g almond flakes
  • 15 g milk
  • almond flakes
  • powdered sugar

Preparation (7 steps)

Preparation of the cherries

Pit 300 g of cherries and put them in a large bowl. This step is essential to avoid surprises during tasting!

Preparation of the filling

Add 50 g of sugar, 30 g of breadcrumbs and 30 g of almond flakes to the cherries. Mix well with a spatula to mix all the ingredients. This will help create a homogeneous and tasty filling.

Roll out the puff pastry

Unroll 1 roll of rectangular puff pastry, keeping it in the baking paper provided. Make oblique incisions on the corners and parallel cuts on the long sides of the pastry. This will create a decorative effect once cooked.

Fill the strudel

Arrange the cherry filling in the center of the pastry, forming a strip along the entire length. First close the short edges inwards and cross the side strips on the upper part, creating an intertwined decoration. This will seal the filling and give the strudel an inviting appearance.

Brush and decorate

Transfer the strudel to the baking sheet and brush the surface with 15 g of milk. Sprinkle with almond flakes _q.b._ for a crunchy and decorative touch.

Baking in the oven

Bake in a preheated ventilated oven at 180°C for 25-30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and crispy. Check the cooking to prevent it from burning.

Cooling and final decoration

Remove the strudel from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack. Once cold, decorate the surface with powdered sugar _q.b._ for an extra touch of sweetness.
