Description

This focaccia is a poem! I often bake it when friends come to visit or for a cozy dinner. The dough is super easy to prepare and always succeeds. The secret lies in the olive oil, which gives the focaccia its distinctive taste and crispy crust. Topped with fresh herbs or olives, it's a real eye-catcher and tastes simply delicious. Perfect as a side dish for grilling, as a snack in between or simply pure with a glass of wine.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 400 g Flour - Wheat flour Type 550, 405 or 00
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 cube Yeast
  • 320 ml Water - lukewarm
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil - + more for drizzling
  • 1 tsp Honey - or sugar

Preparation (7 steps)

Mix flour and salt

Put 400g flour and 1 tsp salt in the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./speed 3.

Prepare yeast-water mixture

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Put 1/2 cube yeast, 320 ml lukewarm water, 3 tbsp olive oil and 1 tsp honey in the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./speed 3.

Knead dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Add the yeast-water mixture to the flour in the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min./kneading stage to a smooth dough.

Let dough rest

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl, put in a bowl, cover and let rest in a warm place for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees top and bottom heat.

Shape and drizzle dough

Slide the dough onto an oiled baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Press small dimples into the dough with your fingers.

Bake focaccia

Bake the focaccia in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
