Description

This simple whole wheat bread is an absolute hit for anyone who likes it uncomplicated! I bake it regularly because it tastes so wonderfully rustic and is wonderfully juicy. The secret lies in the long resting of the dough, which allows the flavor to fully develop. Perfect for a hearty breakfast or as a side dish for dinner. If you like, you can add a few sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds to the dough. A great bread that succeeds without much effort!

Ingredients (4 ingredients)

  • 500 gramo 100% whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 8 gramo dry baking yeast
  • 400 mililitro warm/lukewarm water

Preparation (7 steps)

Mix dry ingredients

Add 500 g whole wheat flour, 1 tablespoon salt and 8 g dry yeast to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./speed 3.

Add water and mix

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 4

Slowly pour 400 ml of lukewarm water into the mixing bowl and mix for 30 sec./speed 4 until a homogeneous dough is formed. The dough does not need to be kneaded.

Let the dough rest

Place the dough in a bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for 2 hours until the volume has doubled.

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Shape dough

Grease a loaf pan (approx. 20-25 cm long) or line with baking paper. Place the dough in the pan and spread evenly with a spatula.

Bake bread

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 20 minutes at 200°C. Then reduce the temperature to 170°C and bake for another 25 minutes. The total baking time is approx. 45 minutes.

Let bread cool

Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack.
