Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 1 piece onion cut into strips
  • 2 clove finely chopped garlic
  • 0.5 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tazas broth or water
  • salt
  • pepper
  • oregano
  • garlic powder
  • 8 piezas chicken
  • 1 piece chopped paprika
  • 2 tazas water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup white rice

Preparation (6 steps)

Sauté the onion and garlic

Cut the onion into strips. Finely chop the garlic cloves. Add the onion and garlic to the Thermomix bowl along with a splash of oil. Sauté for 5 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add the paprika and spices

Chop the paprika. Add the chopped paprika, ½ tsp of cumin powder, salt to taste, pepper to taste, oregano to taste and garlic powder to taste to the Thermomix bowl. Cook for 5 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Sear the chicken

In a separate pan, sear the 8 pieces of chicken on all sides so that they brown slightly. This will help them soak up the juices from the vegetables.

Cook the chicken in the Thermomix

Thermomix® Setting

Place the seared chicken in the Thermomix bowl. Pour in 2 cups of broth or water. Cover the Thermomix and cook for 30 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Prepare the rice

In a separate pot, add 2 cups of water (480 ml), 1 tsp of salt, 1 tbsp of oil and 1 cup of white rice. Stir and cook over high heat until the water boils. Then, cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes or until the water has mostly been absorbed.

Finish cooking the rice

Once the water has mostly been absorbed, mix the rice and reduce the heat to low. Cook for about 15 more minutes or until when tasting, the grain is fully cooked.
