Description

This hearty layered salad is an absolute hit at any barbecue party! I've been making it for years and it's always a hit. Leek, peppers, cooked ham and cheese are cut into small pieces and mixed with corn, kidney beans and a creamy mayonnaise. The special thing about this salad is that it has to steep in the refrigerator overnight, which perfectly combines the flavors. This makes it ideal for preparing in advance and tastes even better the next day. Perfect for those who like it uncomplicated and delicious!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 1 Stange/n Leek
  • 2 piece Bell pepper
  • 1 Pck. Cooked ham
  • 1 piece Young Gouda
  • 1 can Corn
  • 1 can Kidney beans
  • 1 Glas Mayonnaise

Preparation (5 steps)

Chop leek and bell pepper

Thermomix® Setting

Cut the leek into approx. 2 cm thick rings and roughly dice the bell pepper. Place both in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./speed 5. Use the spatula to push down.

Chop cooked ham and cheese

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 4

Cut the cooked ham and cheese into approx. 1 cm cubes and add to the leek and bell pepper in the mixing bowl. Mix for 3 sec./speed 4.

Add corn and beans

Drain the corn and kidney beans in a sieve and then add to the other ingredients in the mixing bowl.

Mix salad

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3 Linkslauf Reverse

Add the mayonnaise to the mixing bowl and season everything with a little salt and pepper. Mix for 10 sec./speed 3 reverse.

Let the salad steep

Pour the salad into a bowl and let it steep, covered, in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours.
