Description

This hearty dish is perfect for a cozy evening! The fried sausage pan with bell pepper vegetables is quick to prepare and tastes simply delicious. It comes with crispy potato wedges and a dollop of crème fraîche – a real soul food! I like to make this recipe when things need to be quick, but I still want something hearty on the table. The bell pepper sauce gives the fried sausage a great flavor. If you like, you can add some chili. The potato wedges are a great side dish and complete the meal. Simple, tasty and filling!

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 1 pack Potato wedges
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 0.5 piece Bell pepper
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 1 can Sieved tomatoes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 0.5 tsp Sugar
  • 2.5 tbsp Wine vinegar
  • 4 piece Fried sausages
  • 100 g Crème fraîche

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare onion and bell pepper

Peel and halve the onion. Clean, core, wash and also halve the bell pepper. Place onion halves and bell pepper halves in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./speed 5. If necessary, push down with the spatula.

Sauté vegetables

Add 2 tbsp sunflower oil to the chopped onions and bell peppers in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare sauce

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add 1 tbsp flour and sauté for 1 min./100°C/speed 1. Add 1 can (425 ml) sieved tomatoes, salt, pepper, sweet paprika, 1 tbsp sugar and 2 tbsp wine vinegar and simmer for 5 min./100°C/speed 2.

Season and refine the sauce

Thermomix® Setting

Season the sauce with salt, pepper and sweet paprika. Add 100 g crème fraîche and stir in for 30 sec./speed 2.

Refine crème fraîche

In a small bowl, mix 100 g crème fraîche with salt, ½ tsp sugar and ½ tbsp wine vinegar. Set aside.

Bake potato wedges

Spread the potato wedges on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven (electric oven: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 25 minutes, turning once.

Fry fried sausages

Lightly score the fried sausages. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and fry the fried sausage in it for approx. 10 minutes, turning occasionally.

Arrange

Arrange the fried sausages, the bell pepper sauce and the potato wedges on plates. Add a dollop of the refined crème fraîche and sprinkle with some paprika powder.
