Description

This creamy mustard sauce is a real classic and super quick to prepare in the Thermomix®! I really like to make it when things need to be quick. It goes perfectly with fish, eggs or simply with vegetables. The slight spiciness of the mustard harmonizes wonderfully with the creamy consistency. You can also vary the sauce, for example with some fresh herbs or a dash of white wine. An absolute must for every sauce lover and so easy that everyone can do it!

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 1 tbsp Margarine or Butter
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • 1 Prise(n) Salt

Preparation (3 steps)

Melt margarine and prepare roux

2 min/122°F/Speed 1, 3 min/212°F/Speed 2 50, 100

Put 1 tbsp margarine or butter into the mixing bowl and melt for 2 min./50°C/speed 1. Then add 1 tbsp flour and sauté for 3 min./100°C/speed 2.

Add milk and cook sauce

Thermomix® Setting
4 min/194°F/Speed 3 90

Add 250 ml milk to the mixing bowl and stir in for 4 min./90°C/speed 3. Make sure that no lumps form. If necessary, add a little more milk to achieve the desired consistency.

Add mustard and spices

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/194°F/Speed 2 90

Add 1 tbsp mustard and 1 pinch of salt to the mixing bowl and stir in for 1 min./90°C/speed 2. Season to taste and add more mustard or salt if necessary.
