Description

This savory rice dish is packed with flavor from Italian sausage, juicy shrimp, and a medley of vegetables. Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 5 piece hot Italian sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 5 piece mild Italian sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 15 piece raw chicken tenders or strips
  • 2 pound large shrimp - peeled and deveined
  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 1 piece green bell pepper, seeded and cut into strips
  • 1 piece large stalk celery, with leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 clove garlic, minced (Optional)
  • 2 cup uncooked long grain rice
  • 2 can peeled and diced tomatoes, juice reserved
  • 2 piece bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 3.5 cup chicken broth

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare the vegetables

Add 1 onion to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds/speed 5. Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl with a spatula.

Sauté the vegetables

Add 1 green bell pepper (seeded and cut into strips), 1 large stalk celery (with leaves, finely chopped), and 2 cloves garlic (minced) to the mixing bowl. Sauté for 5 minutes/120°C/speed 1.

Add 2 cups uncooked long grain rice, 2 (14.5 ounce) cans peeled and diced tomatoes (juice reserved), 2 bay leaves, 2 teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, and ¾ teaspoon ground turmeric to the mixing bowl. Cook and stir for 1 minute/100°C/speed 2.

Add liquids and chicken

Mix in reserved tomato juice and 3 ½ cups chicken broth. Add 15 raw chicken tenders or strips to the mixing bowl. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes/100°C/speed 1/Linkslauf.

Add sausage

Add 5 (4 ounce) links hot Italian sausage (cut into 1 inch pieces) and 5 (4 ounce) links mild Italian sausage (cut into 1 inch pieces) to the mixing bowl. Continue to simmer for 15 minutes/100°C/speed 1/Linkslauf.

Add shrimp and finish cooking

5 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Stir in 2 pounds large shrimp (peeled and deveined). Cover and cook for 5 minutes/100°C/speed 1/Linkslauf or until shrimp is cooked through.
