Description

These savory seed crackers are the perfect vegan snack for any occasion! I love making them because they are so easy to prepare and you can vary the ingredients as you wish. The mixture of flax seeds, chia seeds, sesame, sunflower and pumpkin seeds provides a great bite and plenty of healthy fats. The various spices give the crackers a spicy note that is simply delicious. Whether as a snack in between meals, as a side dish to salads or as finger food at parties - these crackers are always a hit! And the best thing: they are also gluten-free!

Ingredients (23 ingredients)

  • 1 tbsp Flax seeds
  • 1 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp Sesame
  • 1 tbsp Sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp Pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Oat flakes
  • 1 tbsp Corn semolina
  • 1 tbsp Nut mix (walnut, hazelnut, cashew nuts)
  • 1 tsp Herbs of Provence
  • 1 tsp Barbecue seasoning
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Hot paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Curry powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Dried basil
  • 1 tsp Dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp Dried parsley
  • Nutritional yeast
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Flour
  • Water
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Preparation (5 steps)

Chop seeds and kernels

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 8

Add flax seeds, chia seeds, sesame, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, oat flakes, corn semolina and nut mix to the mixing bowl and chop for 10 sec/speed 8. Then transfer to a bowl.

Add spices and mix

Add herbs of Provence, barbecue seasoning, sweet paprika powder, hot paprika powder, curry powder, turmeric powder, dried basil, dried rosemary, dried parsley, nutritional yeast, salt and pepper to the bowl with the chopped seeds and kernels and mix well.

Add flour and oil

Add flour to the bowl (according to the amount of seed-kernel mixture). Add oil and mix everything well.

Add water and shape dough

Add water as needed until a malleable dough is formed. The dough should not be too moist. Have another bowl of water ready. Moisten hands after each cracker to shape the crackers better.

Bake crackers

Place the baking sheet with the shaped crackers in the preheated oven and bake at 230 °C circulating air for approx. 15 min. Switch to top/bottom heat for the last 5 min so that they become nice and crispy.
