Description

Pork with sauerkraut is a hearty main course from the Thermomix® with pork, sauerkraut and onions. Preparation takes about 90 minutes and yields 4 servings. The recipe is especially suitable for the cold season and is a hearty home-style cooking. With the Thermomix® the preparation is simple and straightforward.

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 600 g Pork (neck or shoulder)
  • 1 Stück Medium onion
  • 500 g Sauerkraut (raw)
  • 0.5 l Vegetable soup (or water)
  • 1 EL Oil
  • 25 g Paprika (sweet)
  • 3 Stück Garlic cloves
  • 1 TL Caraway (whole)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 Stück Bay leaf
  • 1 EL Flour smooth
  • 100 g Sour cream
  • 100 g Sour cream

Preparation (8 steps)

Chop onion

Add 1 medium onion to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Sauté onion

Add 1 tbsp oil to the onions and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Chop garlic

Add 3 pieces garlic cloves and chop for 3 sec./speed 7.

Sear meat

Sear 600 g pork (neck or shoulder) in a separate pan.

Add sauerkraut and spices

Add 500 g sauerkraut (raw), 25 g paprika (sweet), 1 tsp caraway (whole), salt, pepper, 1 bay leaf and the seared meat to the mixing bowl.

Add vegetable soup and cook

Add ½ l vegetable soup (or water) and cook for 60 min./100°C/reverse rotation speed 1.

Bind sauce

Add 1 tbsp flour smooth and 100 g sour cream and stir for 5 min./90°C/reverse rotation speed 2.

Garnish with 100 g sour cream and serve.
