Description

These Cajun chicken drumsticks are a real treat for lovers of spicy flavors! I have been preparing this recipe for years and it is always a sensation. The mixture of Cajun spices, with its paprika, Espelette pepper and cumin, coats the chicken with an intense and slightly spicy flavor. Accompanied by a garnish of fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers and corn, it is a complete and tasty dish. Perfect for a Sunday lunch or a dinner with friends, these Cajun chicken drumsticks will bring a touch of originality to your table. The preparation is simple and quick, and the result is guaranteed!

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 5 cl of olive oil
  • Thyme
  • Salt or fine salt
  • 2 piece tomatoes (large)
  • 10 cl of olive oil
  • 1 piece red onion
  • 1 piece red pepper
  • 100 g of corn
  • 8 piece chicken drumsticks
  • 2 c. à s. of paprika
  • 1 c. à c. of Espelette pepper
  • 2 c. à c. of garlic powder
  • 2 c. à c. of semolina onions
  • 1 c. à s. of brown cane sugar or brown sugar
  • 2 c. à c. of cumin

Preparation (6 steps)

Preparation of the spice mix

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 4

In the Thermomix bowl, add 2 tbsp of paprika, 1 tsp of Espelette pepper, 2 tsp of garlic powder, 2 tsp of semolina onions, 1 tbsp of brown cane sugar, 2 tsp of cumin, thyme and salt. Mix everything for 10 Sek./Stufe 4.

Chicken marinade

Pour 5 cl of olive oil over the 8 chicken drumsticks. Sprinkle with the spice mixture prepared previously. Knead by hand to coat each drumstick well. Set aside.

Preparation of vegetables

Slice 1 red onion. Cut 2 tomatoes into small wedges. Cut 1 red pepper into thin strips. Set aside.

Cooking the vegetables

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Pour 10 cl of olive oil into the Thermomix bowl. Add the red onion and red pepper. Cook for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Adding tomatoes and corn

Add the 2 tomatoes cut into wedges and 100 g of corn to the Thermomix bowl. Also add salt and thyme. Mix gently with the spatula.

Cooking vegetables and chicken

Pour the prepared vegetables into a wok. Add the marinated chicken drumsticks. Cook the chicken for 5 minutes on each side in the wok over high heat. Then, reduce the heat, cover and cook for 30 minutes over low heat.
