Description

The Viking pot is a hearty main course with ground beef, carrots and peas, prepared in the Thermomix®. Breadcrumbs, mustard, salt and pepper round off the taste. The recipe is ideal for family cooking and is an inexpensive meal. The preparation time is approx. 45 minutes for 3 portions.

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 500 g Ground beef
  • 1 EL Breadcrumbs
  • 1.5 TL Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 EL Mustard
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Carrots frozen, fresh or from a jar
  • Peas frozen or canned
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 1 Stück Clove of garlic
  • 1 EL Flour
  • 200 ml Vegetable broth
  • 200 ml Cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation (11 steps)

Prepare ground meat

Mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and mustard evenly in a bowl. Form approx. 16 meatballs from the ground meat mixture.

Chop onion and garlic

Put onion in the mixing bowl and chop: 3 sec./level 5.

Add garlic and chop

Add garlic clove and chop: 3 sec./level 7.

Fry meatballs

Fry the meatballs in a pan with a little olive oil until golden brown on each side. Then remove, cover and set aside.

Sauté onion and garlic

Put onion and garlic with 1 tbsp olive oil in the mixing bowl and sauté: 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Sauté carrots

Add carrots to the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Sauté flour

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/248°F/Speed 1 248°F

Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and sauté for 1 min./120°C/level 1 while stirring.

Prepare sauce

Add vegetable broth and cream, add salt and pepper and bring to a boil for 5 min./100°C/level 2.

Add meatballs and simmer

Return the previously fried meatballs to the mixing bowl and simmer in the sauce for 15 min./100°C/reverse/level 1.

Add peas

Add peas and simmer for 3 min./100°C/reverse/level 1.

Season and serve

Season the sauce with salt and pepper and sprinkle with some chopped parsley. Serve with potatoes or mashed potatoes as a side dish.
