Description

This lentil stew with rib and sausage is a comforting dish, perfect for cold days. The combination of lentils with pork and sausage gives it an intense and delicious flavor. I have been preparing it for years and it is always a success at home. It is a very complete and nutritious dish, ideal for a family meal. In addition, it can be prepared in advance and reheated, which makes it perfect for those days when you don't have much time to cook. Go ahead and try it, you will love it!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 400 gramos lentils
  • 250 gramos pork rib
  • 1 piece sausage
  • 1 piece onion
  • 1 trozo green pepper
  • 4 cucharadas fried tomato
  • 1 hoja bay leaf
  • 1 tsp cumin powder (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 chorro oil

Preparation (8 steps)

Preparation of ingredients

Wash the lentils under the tap with cold water. Set aside.

Brown the pork rib

Add a splash of oil to the Thermomix bowl. Add the pork rib cut into small pieces and brown for 5 Min./Varoma/Reverse rotation/Spoon speed.

Add the sausage

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Giro inverso/Velocidad cuchara 120 Reverse

Cut the sausage into slices and add it to the bowl along with the rib. Sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Reverse rotation/Spoon speed.

Incorporate the rest of ingredients

Add the green pepper in one piece, the peeled and whole onion, the bay leaf and the fried tomato to the bowl. Stir with the spatula.

Add water and lentils

Thermomix® Setting
45 min/212°F/Giro inverso/Velocidad cuchara 100 Reverse

Add water to cover the ingredients, approximately 1 liter. Add the washed lentils. Program 45 Min./100°C/Reverse rotation/Spoon speed.

Season and add cumin

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/212°F/Giro inverso/Velocidad cuchara 100 Reverse

Add salt to taste and half a teaspoon of cumin powder (optional). Program 15 Min./100°C/Reverse rotation/Spoon speed.

Check and rectify

Check that the lentils are cooked. If necessary, program a few more minutes at the same temperature and speed. Taste for salt and correct if necessary.

Crush (optional)

If a thicker texture is preferred, crush the vegetables for 30 Sec./Speed 5-10 progressively. Serve hot.
