Description

These spice slices with red wine glaze, prepared in the Thermomix®, are a Christmas pastry with margarine, brown sugar, gingerbread spice and citrus aromas. The recipe yields about 24 servings and is ideal as a dessert or finger food for the winter season. The preparation time is a total of 115 minutes, of which 30 minutes are active working time. Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 150 g Margarine
  • 175 g Brown sugar
  • 2 TL Gingerbread spice
  • 1 Päckchen Grated lemon zest
  • 1 Päckchen Grated orange zest
  • 3 Eggs
  • 200 g Flour
  • 1 Beutel Chocolate pudding powder for cooking
  • 0.5 Päckchen Baking powder
  • 1 Prise Iodized salt
  • 75 ml Dry red wine
  • 50 ml Dry red wine
  • 100 g Bittersweet chocolate
  • 200 g Powdered sugar

Preparation (10 steps)

Mix margarine, sugar and spices

Put 150 g margarine, 175 g brown sugar, 2 tsp gingerbread spice, grated lemon zest and grated orange zest into the mixing bowl and mix for 3 min/speed 4. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Add eggs

Add 3 eggs one after the other through the lid opening and mix in for 20 sec/speed 3 each time. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Mix dry ingredients

Mix 200 g flour, a packet of pudding powder, 1/2 packet of baking powder and 1 pinch of iodized salt well in a separate bowl and sieve.

Mix dry and liquid ingredients

Add the dry ingredients alternately with 75 ml red wine to the mixing bowl and mix in for 1 min/speed 3. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Chop and fold in chocolate

Roughly chop 100 g bittersweet chocolate and put it in the mixing bowl. Chop for 5 sec/speed 5. Push down with the spatula and then fold in for 20 sec/reverse/speed 2.

Fold in chocolate (reverse)

Bake dough

Spread the dough on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (convection: 180 °C) for approx. 25 minutes. Turn the cake out onto a cake rack and remove the baking paper.

Prepare glaze

Put 200 g powdered sugar and 50 ml red wine in the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec/speed 3 to form a glaze.

Spread glaze and let cool

Spread the glaze evenly over the cake. Let the spice slices cool for about 1 hour.

Cut slices

Cut the cake into 8 lengthwise strips and then cut them into small slices.
